XX-XXI Century

Christie’s returns with its XXth/XXIst Century Art auctions, led by a major work by Piet Mondrian: Composition III.

Painted in 1920, Composition III is one of only eight paintings Mondrian produced that year, works that are now held in some of the world’s leading museum collections. It is the most important painting by the artist to come to auction since 2009 and carries an estimate of £20–30 million.

Before arriving in London for the preview of the XXth/XXIst Century Evening Sale, Composition III will travel to Zurich, Paris, New York and Hong Kong, offering audiences around the world a rare opportunity to see the work ahead of the auction.
